the big picture

Hopefully holidays with the family is a joyous one for all.  we have much to be thankful for even if our spot in the forest froze over for a season!

the winter witch blew through

Ok, so I was driving through this new development outside of town, "in the mountains" and there was a patch of forest - just a patch - that had frozen over.   It looked like the witch from the Chronicles of Narnia had come and froze a little plot and then departed.  Really, there was a sprinkler installed that was malfunctioning and that's all there was to the new development.  Maybe they can wait to install sprinklers next time until the house is built?

strong roof strong marriage

Happily married and retired.. they were having fun.  He explained to me that if the snow stays on the roof, it will melt, become ice and damage the roof, thereby causing the roof to leak down on the porch and damage it.  I guess it's these kinds of things that keep a marriage strong.

Big Wet Snowy Dump

November finally brought the big wet snowy dump and we LOVE IT (2 feet in one day)!!! This is a shot of Main Street with Wild Joe's coffee shop on the right.

Rockford Coffee shop in the snow.

Main Street Hunting

Another view of the best hunting store on Main Street.  The Powderhorn is known for it's "mounts" on the walls and attracts many tourists.   Many of the dead animals hanging on the walls have been shot by the old owners and their children throughout their lives.

the powderhorn store

I'm not proud to live in hunting country, but it's a reality I can't ignore.  Here it is folks - gun sales in the USA.
