hold-up

On the city streets, the term hold-up usually refers to someone stopping you in your tracks with a gun to steal all that they might want from you right then and there.  I was held-up by this river crossing.  The only thing it took from me was the chance to see an amazing waterfall further down the trail, and the journey onward.  But it dive give back to me the time to sit and stare and listen to this loud powering "creek".  I'll come back later after the run-off dies down and get further down the trail.  For now, nature forces patience.
